1Corinthians 11:20 When you come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord’s Supper. For in eating every one takes before other their own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

COMMUNION (KJV) or SHARING (NRSV) or PARTICIPATION (NIV)
EUCHARIST from eucharisteo, translated “thanks” in Matthew 26:27.

Matthew 26:26-30 While they were eating, Y’ehoshua (Jesus) took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then He took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s kingdom.” When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

1 Corinthians 5:7-8 Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast–as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.

1 Peter 1:18-19 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

1 Corinthians 10:16-17 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.

Exodus 12:43 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “These are the regulations for the Passover: “No foreigner is to eat of it.

1 Corinthians 11:23-31 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Y’ehoshua (Jesus), on the night He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. A person ought to examine themself before they eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on themself. That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment.

Luke 22:19, 20 And He took bread, and gave thanks, and broke it and gave unto them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me”. In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”.

Matthew 26:28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Acts 20:7 On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight.
