Prayer

Prayer is simply communing with God. Prayer is a lifestyle of ongoing open communion/communication with God.
What is full (true) Prayer, but Communion with God the Father in love and in the grace of His Son Y’ehoshua Christ in the Anointing (communion) of The Holy Spirit!
Matthew 6:5-18 (Y’ehoshua speaking here) “And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of people. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.
6. But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.
7. But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8. Be not you therefore like unto them: for your Father knows what things ye have need of, before you ask him.
9. After this manner therefore pray you: “Our Father which is in heaven, Hallowed be your name.
10. Your kingdom come. Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11. Give us this day our daily bread.
12. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14. For if you forgive people their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15. But if you forgive not people their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
16. Moreover when you fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto people to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
17. But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face;
18. That you appear not unto people to fast, but unto your Father which is in secret: and your Father, which sees in secret, shall reward you openly.
1st. We need to see that this teaching is directly from Y’ehoshua (Jesus).
2nd. There is an assumption that you are praying.
3rd. And when you pray, It should be a time of communion with God. This can best be accomplished one on one, you and God alone. You shall not be as the hypocrites are. They love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of people. Y’ehoshua says “Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.”
4th. Your Father will reward You openly for being obedient.
5th. Do not use vain repetition.
6th. Your Father knows what you have need of.
7th. Acknowledge God as your Father. Acknowledging God as your Father indicates an intimacy such as being a member of a family and seeing God as your “daddy” (or whatever term of endearment you would ascribe to a loving father).
8th. Acknowledge that your Father is in Heaven. Acknowledging that God is in heaven indicates the glory of God.
9th. Hallowed be your name. Hallowing the name of God is to say “Holy is Your Name”. Another way to look at this is to say “Holy is your Nature” It is common among the Jewish people to name their children according to the nature that they desire for their children, and as well to ascribe a name to describe the nature of an individual. The name/nature of God is Holy. Leviticus 11:44 “For I am the LORD your God: you shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy:…”
10th. Your kingdom come. It should foremost in the mind of the believer that their desire is that that the kingdom of God be realized. That is to say that we are to look for the fulfillment of the end times when God will rule and reign with his followers.
11th. Your will be done in earth as it is in Heaven. Although we look for the end of days, we should still desire that God’s will be accomplished in the day that we live as it already is in Heaven.
12. Give us this day our daily bread. Praying for our daily bread shows our daily dependence on God, not only for the food that we eat, but for all that sustains life.
13th. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Y’ehoshua explains in verses 14 & 15: “For if you forgive people their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if you forgive not people their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
14th. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Once again, this is an opportunity to for us to express our dependence upon God to guide us in the way that we should go and His ability to overcome evil in our lives if we will trust Him to do so. Phillipians 2:13 tells us “For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
15th. For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Although this doxology is not found in the oldest texts, is is still Biblical according to 1 Chronical 29:11: “Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.”
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, What things so ever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.”
Roams 8:26 “Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
1Thessolians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.”
1 Timothy 2:8 “I will therefore that people pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”
James 5:13-16 “Is any among you afflicted? let them pray. Is any merry? let them sing psalms.
14. Is any sick among you? let them call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over that one, anointing that one with oil in the name of the Lord:
15. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise them up;
and if they have committed sins, they shall be forgiven them.
16. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much.”
The PURPOSE of this site is two-fold:
